
Soft Brain theatre company

Nicole is the Co-Founding Artistic Director of New York City's premiere Commedia dell'Arte theatre company, Soft Brain Theatre Company.
She started the company in 2021 with her NYU friend and collaborator, RJ Tabachnick. Nicole has studied Commedia, clown, and puppetry techniques internationally in Florence, Budapest, and Agios Lavrentios, in addition to training with NYC's top physical actors and movement professionals.
As of 2026, SBTC has produced four Off-Broadway original musicals and four Off-off-Broadway productions, plus handfuls of fundraiser performances in bookstores, vegan restaurants, and music school basements.

Director
Nicole has served as Executive Producer on all of SBTC's mainstage shows. She has directed three of their Off-Broadway musicals, including SBTC's most recent mainstage production, Love and Other Life Sentences (pictured right), at the McGinn/Cazale Theater in the Women's Project Theater facilities.


Performer
Nicole has performed internationally in Budapest, Off-Broadway with SBTC, in concerts at Lincoln Center and 54 Below, and in many charming venues across NYC (including her favorite venue for SBTC's annual holiday cabaret, P&T Knitwear in the Lower East Side).

Nicole has developed Commedia dell'Arte curricula for curious young people and experienced actors alike, including semester-long Commedia training for SBTC actors and one-day workshops for the Classic Stage Company's Summer Classical Theater Intensive.
